The Day the Firth Went Quiet

Went to see Huddersfield v Donny match yesterday at the Galpharm / McAlpine / Whatever-it’s-called-this-week. It was a thrilling 2-2 draw in which Donny came from behind twice to break Hudds hearts, especially that of Andrew Robert Firth and Terry Terrier.
Prior to the game, Firth had been in buoyant mood, after smashing his own Pizza Hut buffet record. He saw off 15 slices of vegetarian supreme, beating his previous best by 4.
The manager of Pizza Hut was quoted as being particularly proud that his branch was the one chosen for this historic occasion.
After the match, Firth’s achievements seemed a distant memory as he began the long walk back to the car. His silence saying more than real words ever could. If it wasn’t for Bob Firth’s shortcut back to the car, the silence may have become unbearable.
Anyway, congratulations Doncaster Rovers…

He’s a bit of cutie. Looks like a quiet, moody, not very good at football, Peter Crouch-alike. I’m sure I saw him the other night in Fuel in Sheffield.

Sid, I shall pass on your details to Firth as I am sick of all the harassing emails you are sending me. I think ‘soulmate’ is perhaps a bit strong but you’re right, you never know…
