I'm Still Here

I’ve been absent from Peminoz recently as my brother has been over from Australia and so last week I didn’t even so much as check my emails. It made me think; it’s probably the longest time, except for holidays, that I haven’t been on the interweb since about 1998. One week. Obviously my particular form of employment comes into play, but one week without online action is, well, quite sad really.
It’s like when you forget to take your mobile to work and you really miss it – what if I’ve missed an important call or message? – and then you get home and you haven’t even got one single text. I never used to be like this; I didn’t even get a mobile until 2001 as I used to think if I’m out I’m out – leave a message. Nobody really needs to get hold of you that desperately. I really hated mobiles. But then phoneboxes started dwindling and… sigh… anyway.
I did have a large amount of emails, sure, but most of ‘em were junk anyway. There’s a few blogs I’ll need to catch up on, a few articles I’ll want to read, but I really haven’t missed much at all. I think I’m going to have a few more absenses from the internet. Square eyes and all that.
And the fact that it’s an issue enough for me to write a post about not going on the internet for a week is bad in itself…
