Stop the World: I'm Getting Off

I think I’m gonna have to move to Iceland. There just aren’t enough hours in the day over here.
Currently my life consists of getting up at sparrow fart to commute down to London, where I have to, well, work, as well as slyly try and sort all other aspects of my life…
I am in the process of buying and selling a house (not the same house, obviously, that’d just be a waste of the fully-and-completely justified solicitor’s fees) and so I am constantly proving that it’s a myth that blokes can’t do more than one thing at once: my phone is glued to my ear pretty much constantly (This gets annoying for me particularly as I have a weird habit of never using my left ear for phone action. Ever. Why I have typed that I do not know).
I’m spending tomorrow in Beeston house-hunting, so today has been lost on Rightmove and on my phear (you think of a better word for the phone/ear then) arranging viewings. The number is currently at around eleven but expected to rise in the next hour or so. Because I am such a tight arse so sensible, I have been getting tons of solicitor’s quotes (anyone recommend any?) just to squeeze a couple of quid off our expenditure. This takes a surprising number of phone calls. And Post-It notes.
Also…
I am getting a bit more traffic on my site now and a few people have said lots of nice things about it, which is great, except I really, desperately wanna get it finished now (I mean, c’mon, look at the state of my stylesheet) as you get judged don’t you? People ‘in the industry’ that I respect will be looking at it and it is far from being finished. SO many things to do. But feck it, Live Design is the way forward!
I joined The Multipack recently and have been very impressed; it’s such a cool and simple idea. I genuinely want to participate in the fantastic forums, portals, discussions about important stuff etc that they have, but am finding it tough to find the time. If you live in The Midlands and haven’t seen it though, check it out, it’s the nuts™.
I am also doing work during all this you realise. Yes I am a hero.
I have a small confession: I don’t have broadband at home. Gasp. Never saw the point as we were only living in our place for a year before we moved up to Notts, so I only really use the tinternet at work. This means all surfing, lurking, posting, reading, [insert other ‘ing’s here] must be done in my lunch hour. But this is where the serious phonecalls to solicitors etc take place. So you see, there isn’t enough time (although the train journey home will be spent on the lap-top, trying to finish as much stuff as poss – squeezing each minute out of the day).
Of course I’m the only person in the history of the world ever to have bought a house while also having a job! so I have a right to moan. I’m special. A bit like Sara Cox on Radio 1 (“I’ve had a baby you know! Perhaps I should talk about it more! Nobody else has ever had a baby!”).
So was anyone gonna tell me that Iceland only has longer days during the summer? I definitely need to time manage better!
And I’ve typed this in ten mins before you say anything.

Iceland, Sweden, Finland… Winter means it’s barely worth opening your eyes as you won’t get any daylight to speak of.
Agree about the Multipack. As a new member myself I desperately want to be able to get to one of the meetings but time is not my friend at the moment.

Yeah I can imagine it’s even worse for you though, you’re a freelancer aren’t you?! Blimey, haven’t had the balls to do that yet!
Well if there’s a Multipack meet in Leics maybe we can manage it. That’d be typical me: going to as many meetings as I have made posts on their forums…

Yep. Same here. Slack as you like.
I am indeed freelancing; work is plentiful but I haven’t decided if it’s the life I want to lead… or just now at least. All fun and games.
