...Lend me your, um, posts?

I’ve not posted on here for a while as work has been a bit crazy recently (I’m pleased to report I have a number of side-projects on the go as well; more about these soon), but I have been keeping an eye on who’s been visiting the site. My traffic has really increased recently, I don’t know why, but that’s a good thing!

Looking at my logs it shows visitors from all across the globe which is great. I checked out gVisit a couple of weeks ago and the results for my site paint a small picture; (I’ve disabled it now though, ‘twas just for a week or so) although there are no flags for Australia which seems strange considering my family live there and I know they have definitely been visiting. Unless they only say they’ve… no, they have. Unless they… No.

Anyway, the point of this post is to invite any visitors to the site to simply say hello, what’s your name and where do you come from (my sincere apologies to Cilla Black)? This invite is open to everyone: my friends, my ‘family’ (hmmm), lurkers, regulars, the whole world. Naturally this will probably backfire spectacularly and only two or three people will say Hi, in which case I’ll just delete this and pretend I never said anything. And perhaps weep quietly.

I’d like to point out this is a shameless rip-off of Simon Collison’s similar post, but I’ve not claimed otherwise and it is an interesting idea. But you can’t win one of my books I’m afraid, I can barely write this let alone a book.

So go on, humour me. Just say hello and imagine it isn’t a bit ICQ 1998 (a/s/l?)... Oh this is gonna go so pear-shaped.

I know you’re after a few comments, so would it help or make you feel better if I post a load of bullshit 10 or so times? ‘n-fact, return the favour n drop me a comment and I’ll call it an even 20.

Cheers, but I’m not that fussed about getting loads of comments, that was never gonna happen, just thought it’d be interesting to see where people checking the site out were from – considering there have been loads viewing. Guess they’re all lurkers. Oh well I’ve learned that people (so-called ‘friends’ of mine at the very least!) are spoil-sport scumbags. Pah. And I don’t pah lightly.

Well as predicted this has failed miserably and will be deleted shortly…

    Hello Stuart,

Just want to say hi, and what a superb site this is… i would definately put it in my top ten ‘non porn’ websites that i like to visit. Keep up the good work dude.

Thanks Benjamin, very kind of you. I think it’s important to have a selection of websites to visit that wouldn’t result in instant dismissal if viewed at work.

Just thought I’d let you know that the olds really haven’t been checking it out. The PC’s effectively disabled with spyware.

And you can’t tab between the Add Your Comments fields (at least not in IE).

Stu, will you write an article on this site and when it will be finished? That tag line “Will this site ever be finished?...” is gettin me curious as to find out what is infact is left to do and what you’ve got planned! :)

@Chris – When I say people from Oz have been visiting, I meant Jay really as I can see his logs from Vic Uni. What version of IE are you using? I can tab perfectly well in IE6…

@Steve – No huge plans unfortunately, just bits and bobs. I’ve written a couple of articles on the Live Design process, it’s basically the main image is not finished and the footer image not been done yet, doing access keys etc etc, just tweaking really. I’ll write sommat soon for ya! I am launching my World Cup 06 section very shortly though…

    @Lee – Shut up you fat f**k.

@kit – Ha ha, I may be going to the ‘dark side’ of Notts (as many Leicesterites have said) shortly, but there will always be a special place in my heart for Leicester and the World’s most useless train station clock…

See, I’m the loyal family member that DOES visit your site. And you have the logs to prove it. I’m not even sure if the olds know the URL of this site (I might ask em when I get home tonight).

But Chris made the valid point of mentioning the computer. I’m currently trying to set up wireless in the flat so I have no reason to go near the damn thing; the last time I turned it on it took 20 minutes to load up (no kidding).

Lunch beckons now… I made a bread and butter pudding last night so I might have to scoff what remains of it. Bee-yer!

Loyalty counts for a lot in this world; why don’t you fire up Ultimate Bond again and I’ll return the favour…
