Soz

I’ve been lame and done that whole ‘never update your blog’ thing. Soz. It’s been nuts at work (did you know I’m a print designer as well? I should definitely be doing things like designing brochures as it’s not a specialist subject at all and I’m certainly qualified to do it…) and as I’ve just moved house it’s nuts at home as well due to cleaning etc. Add the extra train journey time and, well, there just aint enough time. Again.
I’ve actually got things to write about as well, typically; the most recent things being that I went to the Moor Music Festival in Ilkley (our tats were all barred at the door. Snigger) last weekend oop north for a weekend of drunken debauchery and listening to loadsa quality unsigned bands. And Shed 7 Rick Witter and The Dukes who in no way had to constantly remind the crowd who they were (little tip lads; don’t do any more Shed 7 songs in your set). I met lots of cool people and also a Swedish German foreign guy who called us “sick f**ks” during our barbecue for eating meat. And after we gave him a bun as well, the ungrateful bastard. I’ll possibly write a full review shortly as it deserves more than this lickle paragraph but, well, tick tock tick tock…
I also watched Superman Returns recently and should really write a review of that as well. But can’t be arsed. So briefly I’ll say: Brandon Routh is very good. Kate Bosworth is horribly, horribly mis-cast as Lois Lane (she’s what, 23? It’s a loose sequel to Superman 2, when Lois was 30-odd, and this film is set five or six years after… umm…) so you just don’t believe she has enough life experience to be a top journalist. I know I’m sad, and she is very nice eye candy but didn’t do it for me I’m afraid.
The effects as you would expect are awesome, truly jaw-dropping stuff (you can see why the film cost $250m) and THAT theme tune just puts a big smile on yer face. Kevin Spacey is very good, the plot aint bad and all in all I thought it was ace. Cannae wait for the sequel.
BUT there was one ‘put your head in your hands and ask why god, why’ crappest of all crap storylines, something that never happened in the comics and is the worst idea ever. I won’t spoil it, but this storyline did actually put a dampener on the whole film for me as it’s all you remember. The “What the feck?!” conversations with mates afterwards confirmed to me others thought the same…
It is a good film though!
Right, got to crack on with bleeds and guttering and all other sorts of things I’m definitely qualified for. I’ll try and update this more but don’t hold yer breath. All, ooooooohhhh, three of you…

Stu your blog is entitled “The semi-regularly updated blog…”. Chances are from that alone no one is expected you to be updating it all the time. Besides, in this summer heat who can blame you? I cant be bothered from doing much else other than eating ice cream.

I think you SHOULD write a full review of the weekend away and then you can include me! Also, why do you insist on harvesting email addresses for a reply? Are you considering spamming us all?

@Steve – Yeah I know, I’ve just got one of those damn consciences so feel bad when it’s not updated for a while. Plus sites that aren’t updated often suck. Glad my get out card of a title seems to be working though…
@Wardy – Can’t write a full review remember; you know the rules of the stag. And I harvest email addresses not with the intention of spamming you, merely to store away before winter sets in, when they will be scarce or otherwise difficult to find. Also to (kind of) get genuine commenters and not spam merchants. Or Nigerian businessmen with a great deal for me.

AND… isn’t it about time you got rid of that England shirt and the worlcup links? Great idea but it din’t really “catch on” did it? Also, we all hate England now and we are ready for the real footy to start.
I write this even though I know you are on holiday. But hey!
